Not content with changing the landscape of men's clothing overnight, Zahi Hawass has followed up on the universal
acclaim for the tasteful launch of his eponymous collection by adding new 'topical' items to the range.
Working closely with the company that designed the award-winning Zahi Hawass clothing range, DesignPygmy, Hawass
announced today that the range will be extended to include items that reflect his 'very rich recent personal history'. Images
released by DesignPygmy show a striking orange one-piece jumpsuit, which will be available in an exclusive, individually numbered
limited edition. The collection's first jewellery piece will be an innovative twin-bracelet with keyhole detailing.
Flora Laugh, president of DesignPygmy, said in the laughably overwrought marketing puff that accompanied the
images: "incarceration and labour are the undercurrents of this collection, and each piece is designed with a utilitarian approach.
The line is carefully crafted to convey a sense of time (specifically, one year) and space (specifically, four square metres)."
Laugh's meaningless marketing talk continued: "This novel fashion line is for the travelling man, but also for
the man who values the self-discovery and historicism of not-travelling. Pre-used orange cotton gives off a look that hearkens back
to Egypt's golden age of post-revolutionary prosecution of corrupt self-serving officials."
Laugh also described a world-first fastening and de-fastening innovation that has been designed into the new Zahi
Hawass jumpsuit. "The 'apparel technologists' in our 'innovation laboratory' have developed a set of drawstrings that replace all
the zips and poppers normally found on this type of garment. So as soon as you don't want to be wearing it, it's just a matter of
pulling the right strings!"
